Hairflower Editorial

The love and thought that wedding vendors put into their work is not something to under estimate. During a recent editorial that the women at Verbena Floral Design put together, I looked around a jammed packed room and realized how much talent was working amongst us. There are a lot of hard working people that truly love and respect what goes into weddings and we really appreciate what they bring to each event. In this editorial there wasn’t one involved person who didn’t fit into what I just described. Vanessa and Cara work florals like nobodies business, and brainstormed the whole set up. Mel‘s makeup is always so classic and never over done, and is complimented by Elena’s equally as classic and stunning work with hair. Jessie Carlson from The Room brought her confidence and expertise to the day while Christine and Jessica did every model’s nails just perfectly on location. Trish and Amanda at the White Peony Bridal Boutique dressed the women and hosted the shoot in their beautiful store and Truffles catered our lunch. It’s not every blog that I take the time to talk about vendors, but in this one these women deserve all the credit. We’re very lucky to work with these women and have so much respect for their talents and the energy they show each of their clients.

The full editorial can be found on Verbena’s blog, and another short version on Wedding Chicks.

Sunny & Kirsch

Sometimes weddings signify the beginning of a couple’s life together, the journey that they are about to go on. You watch as the guest and celebrate this start, and dream of the things that will come their way both good and bad. It is a beautiful thing to be apart of that beginning. Other weddings, such as this of Sunny and Kirsch, are less about their beginning and more about the accomplishment of the life they’ve already created. A celebration of survival and strength, and of the relationships both with others and each other, that got them this far. That too is a beautiful moment to participate in. The support behind these two is so strong and their support of one another is to be treasured. I don’t think you could wipe the smile off of Kirsch’s face on that day if you tried, and celebrate she did from start to finish with the people she loves most. I believe it is those people, and Sunny, who allowed her to be as happy as she was and will be. I thank them for giving her the love that she so well reflected back at them, and at us. People like Kirsch remind me to love with every bone in my body, and that when the time comes, celebrate.
