Sometimes weddings signify the beginning of a couple’s life together, the journey that they are about to go on. You watch as the guest and celebrate this start, and dream of the things that will come their way both good and bad. It is a beautiful thing to be apart of that beginning. Other weddings, such as this of Sunny and Kirsch, are less about their beginning and more about the accomplishment of the life they’ve already created. A celebration of survival and strength, and of the relationships both with others and each other, that got them this far. That too is a beautiful moment to participate in. The support behind these two is so strong and their support of one another is to be treasured. I don’t think you could wipe the smile off of Kirsch’s face on that day if you tried, and celebrate she did from start to finish with the people she loves most. I believe it is those people, and Sunny, who allowed her to be as happy as she was and will be. I thank them for giving her the love that she so well reflected back at them, and at us. People like Kirsch remind me to love with every bone in my body, and that when the time comes, celebrate.
