Tristan and I recently spent some time with Cari and Paul in Yorkville Park, Toronto where Paul proposed. A (soon to be) husband and wife team like us, they run their company Think Unique out of the city. It’s always nice to see other couples that get the chance to work together, as obviously we love it! We are really looking forward to their wedding this fall, especially after getting a chance to hang out with them and their two gorgeous and friendly pit bulls! – Jenna

There has been a lot of discussion this summer in the Shouldice household over the purpose photography serves to both the photographer, the subject and the viewer. We’ve been paying special attention to photos of people we love, and want to share the photos with you that mean a lot to us personally. We’ll start with our wonderful friend Lana, taken during a small heat wave that left us eating dinner in the grass one evening. – Jenna

At so many weddings people refer to the day as the beginning of a couple’s life together, and this really rung true for Lisa and Iain. Though they have been together for years, the wedding really did feel like a celebration of the happy memories to come. Full of quiet love and respect for one another, we watched (rewardingly) as Lisa and Iain each married their best friend. – Jenna

Stephanie was one of my first friends when I moved here to Victoria. It didn’t take long to build our friendship, instead it formed almost instantly. She was also one of the few photographers in school with me that knew they were going to photograph weddings right from the start. And with Stephanie came Kyle, the most devoted boyfriend of any student at the school. He’d pop by in the middle of class with a bouquet of flowers, and jump under the 4×5 cloth to see what we were learning. Obviously years later we were so happy to photograph their wedding, at the Church and State Vineyard here on the island. The catch is that this time I was a bridesmaid as well! A lot of elements fell into place perfectly for this wedding. Their flowers were done by Verbena Floral Design, our absolute favourite florists in the city, and her dress was made by Alidas Gowns. I knew her dress would be beautiful when she described it.. but I was blown away by the quality and intricate detail of Alida’s work. I shed quite a few tears when Steph put on her dress, not knowing at the time that it was the start to a season full of tears (happy tears I promise).  - Jenna

One of the most attractive qualities of Ambergris Caye, is the lack of beaches saturated with tourists. Instead of high rises there are vacation homes, one of which belongs to Sophie and Lee. They spend the majority of their time in London England, but the rest in their home on the island making it the perfect location for their wedding. Besides it being a gorgeous setting, the advantage to a wedding in Belize is the relaxed nature of the wedding. When I arrived in the morning the girls were all laughing and carefree, a perfect start for a very beautiful wedding. The ceremony and rooftop cocktail hour were held at the Azul Resort, and the reception at the Rojo Restaurant. Sophie danced (in her gorgeous gorgeous dress) with her guests right until the very last boat took everyone back to their rentals, and the kids danced right along with her. There were so many adorable kids at the wedding, all of which Sophie and Lee were mindful of, whether it was a midnight ice cream truck or a pirate scavenger hunt. Sophie and Lee planned their wedding with their hearts on their sleeves and everyone had a great time as a result. – Jenna
